Sixty years ago (circa 1963) James Warren's 'Famous Monsters Of Filmland' announced filmmaking contest announced, for which the top prize winner got a portable Sony TV set!

Two scripts had been prepared by Forest J Ackerman, editor-in-chief of FMoF,

'Twin Of Frankenstein' and 'Siegfried Saves Metropolis'.

You had to write in for the script, and tell WHICH ONE you wanted to be sent. At the time, some entrants asked FJA to sign the script[s]

The various winners and runner-ups were announced in FM #34 (Aug 1965).

The Top Prize went to Donna Marchant for her version of 'Siegfried Saves Metropolis'.

Next issue (#35), it was announced that she had married the special-effects man on her film, RICHARD CORBEN, and some early artwork of his was shown!
