1932 Vintage Cartoon Art Postcard withAmbigram Hand Drawn ArtworkHam Radio QSL Card W4BLN Postmarked November 12,1932 in Charlotte, NC1 cent Franklin Green Postage StampClassic 1930's QSL Card features Radio Towers shooting red electricity, with a triple edged border frame giving the card avintageclassic look. The information and personal message was "typed" on an old fashioned Typewriter, and it is clear that the writer manually re-positioned the card in the roller to match up the lines. The personal message reads: "sorri we had so much qrm ob btr luck next time. pse qsll. Along the bottom right corner is printed: Hope Cugn, 73- of A.E. Stewart.The cartoon art drawing of a man's smiling face looks Happy when faced one way, including the text that reads: "After Receipt of Ur QSL"and Sad when turned upside down, "Before Recipt of Ur QSL"An ambigram is defined as ...A picture (or figure) that, when inverted, looks the same or changes into the picture of a different subject. Possibly the most remarkable examples of upside-down art were the cartoons drawn by Gustave Verbeek for the Sunday New York Herald in the early 1900s.The hand typed date is Nov 12 1932 and the card is postmarked the same day! CONDITION: All four corners have pin holes, and (if looking at the back-address side) the upper left corner tip is missing, torn at the pin hole, and the other three corners all have creases. There is also a small ding in the top center edge. Also the printing from the front side can be seen through the back side.The 1 cent postage stamp is in fairly good condition, perforated on 3 side, and only slight marks from the postal cancel stamp, although the top right corner of the stamp was damaged at the very edge by a pinhole. The postmark is slightly smudged, but still clear and readable.Photos are a scanned image of the item you will receive. Please see photos.
