Here is a nice set of leather bound books written by Booth Tarkington and published by the Franklin Library for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself!

These fine books are being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a fine book shop or sale house. We can do that by being a dealer in artwork for over 40 years, better controlling our acquisition costs, keeping commission costs low (if applicable). Finally, we don't have the overhead that fine book shops or sale houses have.

Published by the Franklin Library, they are beautiful, leather bound hardcover editions. The first book was Franklin's Pulitzer Prize printing in 1977. Booth Tarkington first published his "The Fabulous Ambersons" book in 1917. The book has a dark green covers with a gold gilt design on both the covers and the spine.The Ambersons book has some toning around the edges of the green moire fabric inside the front and back covers that looks a little brownish. See pic.The book is 298 pages in length.

The second Tarkington book offered here is entitled, "Alice Adams" and was also part of Franklin's Pulitzer Prize printing, this book being printed in 1979. Tarkington issued the book originally in 1921. The book has dark red covers with a gold gilt design on both the covers and the spine. The book is 308 pages in length.

These books were part of a limited edition, not sure how many were actually issued. The books were issued as part of the Franklin Library Pulitzer Prize series. The spines are ribbed and the smooth cut page edges have a gold gilt. The spine and board is decorated with 22k gold gilt. The book is printed on archival quality paper, decorated end papers, and a satin page ribbon/marker.

The books are in very nice shape. The boards are sharp and the binding is tight. There are no marks in the books and the gilding is clean. No nameplate is affixed or included in these books. Some minor gilt loss on the open side of the pages.

The cloth page markers is still attached in the books. No musty or mildew smell to the book. No marks or owner tags in the books.

The larger book is 9-3/8" tall, by 6-3/8" across, by 1.25" to 1-3/8" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.

Returns Policy

Returns are accepted by seller within 30 days of receipt of itemwhere an item is not asdescribed. TheBuyer will be assessed a 15% restocking fee of the Item Cost, plus 115% of both Shipping Costs should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
Please note that a fee is charged toto cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping.
