This listing is for an INCREDIBLY RARE Kodak sepia photo, approximately 8” x 10” in size, signed by the legendary burlesque dancer Candy Barr, now deceased.

Juanita Dale Slusher Phillips (July 6, 1935 - December 30, 2005)

The Colony Club, owned and operated by Abe Weinstein, was located next door to Jack Ruby's famous Carousel Club in Dallas, Texas at the time of the Kennedy assassination in November of 1963.

Many dancers who danced for Jack Ruby at the Carousel Club also danced at Weinstein's Colony Club. Many of the dancers gave testimony to the Warren Commission, as character witnesses of Jack Ruby, after the JFK assassination.

Some of the better known dancers who danced at the Colony Club were Janet "Jada" Conforto, Juanita "Candy Barr" Slusher, and Beverly Oliver who, coincidentally, became known as the Babushka Lady, one of the most important and well known eyewitnesses of the assassination of President Kennedy.
