Vintagelarge dinner plate by Royal Crown/Coalport with the timeless Hunting Scenepattern and made from the finest bone china and Coalport Crown Pottery stamp.This collectible pattern is recognized at once, with the stylized and folksyhand-drawn riders dressed in their hunting attire and the spotted huntinghounds with dark burgundy hand-painted trim. This is one of Coalport’s late pre‑Wedgwood/ early Wedgwood‑era marks, used right around the time the company wasmodernizing its branding. Coalport did not use ® (registered trademark) or ©(copyright symbol) on its marks until the 1960s. This plate is streamlined — asign of 1960s branding and most likely 1964–1968 as this is the period when Coalportwas modernizing its marks and Wedgwood was preparing for acquisition (finalizedin 1967); Trademark symbols became standard and Export patterns like HuntingScene were heavily marketed in North America during this transition. Excellent condition, measures 10 ½ incheswide/long x ½ inches tall.
