G-1 FLIGHT JACKET VF-103 SLUGGERS - USS SARATOGA CV-60 - RALPH EDWARDS SPORTSWEAR, INC. - SIZE 44 - DATED 1977
This is an Excellent Condition G-1 Leather Flight Jacket from the VF-103 Sluggers Squadron. It has a Vietnam War era VF-103 Sluggers Squadron Patch that is fully embroidered with cut edge. It has Sluggers on top with a swallow tail scroll on the bottom with Fighting 103. The USS Saratoga Patch and the Saratoga 200 Centurion Patch appear to be from the Vietnam War era as well, fully heavy embroidered with a cut edge. The Phantom II 2000 Hours Patch is standard squadron issue. During the 1977 to 1980 period the USS Saratoga CV-60 was making Mediterranean Cruises. VF-103 Sluggers were flying F-4J Phantom II FighterJets. VF-103 Sluggers transitioned to F-14A Tomcats in 1983. Of all the G-1 Flight Jackets I have ever owned, this Ralph Edwards Sportswear G-1 has the thickest, best quality leather. This G-1 Flight Jacket has the Velcro Rectangle Loop Patch for attaching & removing Leather Nametag Wings.
