Very RARE US Made WW2 WWII ROC Chinese Army Officer's Visor Hat Cap:

U.S. Army Service Cap that has been used by an officer of the Republic of China (ROC/Taiwan) military, likely during or just after World War II.

1. The Cap Itself (U.S. Origin)

The interior lining clearly shows the Great Seal of the United States (the eagle) and states "SERVICE CAP" and "100% All Wool." This is a standard American military officer’s cap, in the "Olive Drab" color used during the WWII era.

2. The Insignia (Republic of China)

The badge on the front is the "Blue Sky with a White Sun" (Ching-tien Pai-jih), which is the national emblem of the Republic of China.

The Symbol: The 12 rays of the sun represent the 12 months and the 12 traditional Chinese hours.

The Wreath: The golden wheat/rice stalks surrounding the sun emblem denote military rank or authority, typically worn by officers.

3. Historical Context: The "Lend-Lease" Connection

During World War II and the subsequent Chinese Civil War, the United States provided massive amounts of military aid to the Chinese Nationalist forces (Kuomintang) under Chiang Kai-shek.

Officer Training: Many Chinese officers were trained by U.S. advisors or attended schools in the States.

Surplus Gear: It was extremely common for ROC officers to wear U.S.-made uniforms and caps, simply swapping out the American "Eagle" insignia for the Chinese "White Sun" badge.
