Super rare large sized sculpture by Cybis, this is a limited edition, numbered piecewhich is signed #8 out of only 100 ever made. Some historical information aboutthis piecefrom the Cybis archives is included in photos #2-5 as this piece waspresented to both Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, see photos and readinscriptions. The piece listed here for sale as stated above is one of only 100 evermade between 1968 and 1972. They were only ever made for retail in bisquewhite porcelain and it has incredibly realistic and accurate detailas can be seenin the veins/blood vessels in the ears and elephant's textured hide in the last 3close-up photos. It is both hand-signed and numbered as shown in photo #6 andimprinted "CYBIS" on the underside of one of the feet as shown in photo #7.
It is a large piece, my measurements being 24" in length fromtip of trunk to backof heel, 13" wide at widest point (ear to ear) and a high pointof 16.5" tall at tipof trunk. It is in absolutely excellent condition with no cracks, chips or damageof any kind. Itwill beprofessionally packed, shipped and insured.
