📜 Rare Letter from Rabbi Elazar Twersky of Faltishan–Skver
Signed by Hand | Descendant of Chernobyl, Skver & Belz Dynasties | Sent to Jerusalem
Description:
Presented here is a rare and authentic letter, signed by the Admor Rabbi Elazar Twersky of Faltishan (Faltishan–Skver), a revered Chassidic leader and direct descendant of three of the most prominent dynasties in Jewish history: Chernobyl, Skver, and Belz.
The letter is written in Hebrew, appears on the Rebbe’s official letterhead, which bears the name Faltishan–Skver, and includes his original handwritten signature. It was sent to Jerusalem, a testament to the vibrant connection between Eastern European Chassidic courts and the Jewish community in Eretz Yisrael in the early 20th century.
🔹 Rabbi Elazar Twersky was:
A great-grandson of Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl, author of Likutei Torah
The son or grandson of the Skverer Rebbes, stemming from Rabbi Yitzchak of Skver, son of Rabbi Mordechai
Related through maternal lineage to the Belz dynasty, making him a rare fusion of three royal Chassidic bloodlines
He led the Chassidic court of Faltishan, a noted spiritual center in Bessarabia (present-day Romania/Moldova), and maintained strong ties with leading Rabbinic figures in Jerusalem. Letters of this nature are rarely found on the market and are of great interest to Judaica collectors and scholars of rabbinic history.
