This was the first of many photographs discovered of James Joyce, his wife, children, parents, and friends. They all stem from the same online dealer. So far I have acquired 30+ photos. They greatly accentuate the life and times of the famous author. I would hope for one of the many agencies or organizations relating to James Joyce research to contact me.

Please note in his earlier signatures he did indeed have loops above and below on his letter J. Later on this would be reduced down to a loop only on the top.

Also note: he is most likely wearing the same coat jacket as he wore as can be seen in other known photos of his early adulthood. The style of hat is also congruent.
