There are not that many of these still around as they were ordered to be destroyed in the field to avoid being confiscated by the enemy.

Item has the order #, year, and company who made it.

This piece was likely liquidated from Wright Patterson Air Force Base (near here) which has been the source of many ww2 relics around Ohio. I found it in a major liquidation warehouse near other military items. (Army and Air Force items)

Look up the serial number #1814 if you have time.
