For sale is an exceptionally rare and very well preserved, 1980’s period Ford illuminated advertising sign.

This sign was used as one of the main advertising pieces in the overhead showroom canopy for an official Ford agent in Manchester, England. It is a superb size and very impressive when seen in person.

The sign features a large vacuum formed single sided logo, housed within the unique fluted design of the exterior case of the 1980’s period. The Ford logo itself sits raised out from the case. The sign has had a new backing panel installed and can now be hung from the wall and attached using rear mounting support holes.

The internal lighting is operated by newly installed professional grade LED lighting and it is fully functional. The sign is currently wired to a UK plug but it can be easily changed to a European or USA plug without the need for any adapters or step down converters (such is the benefit of modern LED lighting). The colours and inviting glow is genuinely superb.

The sign dates back to a legendary time for the Ford brand where names such as Cosworth were prevalent. It was originally an external piece but it presents itself very, very well and being from this particular period, it is almost impossible to come by. There are no cracks in the screen face, only general and minor signs of age.

I am willing to ship this special sign worldwide and I will ensure it is safely packaged. A bespoke wooden shipping crate will be provided as well.

This nostalgic and atmospheric sign is very striking and would be perfectly suited for an enthusiast to have on display. It has been privately owned and enjoyed but now the time has come for a new home to be found. I will ensure the sign is safely packaged for its journey to its new owner.
