WOW - here is an amazing throwback! Extremely desirable VINTAGE Coin-Op with twenty-two articulated players, playing the game of European football (soccer).Brass controls each operating six sets of levers, metal playing field, grandstand backflash, goal posts and wire nets, in glazed stained pine case with instructions, topflash and brass score counter.Play Football was produced by Chester-Pollard Amusement Co., Inc. ~ 1924-26. When the steel ball comes to rest in front of a member of your team, quickly push the handle down to propel his leg out and hopefully score a goal. A "fumble" gives the ball to your opponent.
There are some small dents to the case, player uniforms are re-made and the game is restored to an amazing, tip-top condition given its nearly 100 years age!Appears to be working when last played - ball pops up and everything. But no guarantees and so please inspect at pickup due to the fragile nature of the workings. A strip of fallen wood blocks action, but an easy fix.
Measures approx. 64"x 44"x 18". No key. Refurbished inside and out to brilliant standards. Original cost was $550 in the 1920s, a small fortune at the time.
