Then came the crows. One by one they landedon the balcony, eyes watching. In a moment of surrender or intuition, he fedthem. He didn’t care for the old tales — that crows are omens. He just knewsomething had to shift.

But one day, the three left to collect theMagical Liquid Stone alone for the very first time.

The first day went well — each of them founda dozen or more pieces. The stones were calling, and they listened.

But on the second day… something had changed.

As they followed the same route, they cameupon a full skeleton of a kangaroo, laid perfectly across thetrack. It hadn't been there the day before.

The silence around them thickened. Still, they pressed on.

They froze.

And ran back toward the car.

Had it fallen differently… they would’ve been stranded in the outback.

But the path out was still open. Barely.
