I picked this painting up a while ago and the more research I do on it the more I believe it was done by George Catlin. I have posted it on several art forums and shown it to several museums and everyone seems to feel it is by George Catlin but I have not been able to find someone who is a expert of George Catlins works in order to get it fully authenticated. If you are a expert on George Catlin works or know someone who is please send me a message with that info.
