Samantha and Kirsten, along with their bevy of whimsical belongings have been treated with the utmost care and consideration. Adult-owned, never played with and only rarely handled, they've remained for close to three decades as lovely as the very day they first arrived.

American Girl dolls are beloved by collectors of all ages around the world and only grow more valuable with each passing year. American Girl was founded in 1986 by Pleasant Rowland, a retired teacher and writer. The doll company went from a catalog-only brand to an empire that includes retail stores with cafes and doll hospitals, a magazine, books, and a social media presence. Two of the very first three dolls were Kirsten and Samantha, who had unique stories of their own: Kirsten Larson and her family were pioneers living in Minnesota in 1854. Samantha Parkington was an orphan living in New York City during the early 1900s. Samantha and Kirsten quickly became two of the most beloved dolls of the the entire American Girl collection. Both girls, with great sadness from their legions of fans,were eventually retired.
