Notes: Rare ice cream spoons in Gorham\'s desirable and collectible pattern, Medallion.

These spoons are in very nice condition. The pattern is very sharp and crisp all over. The medallion is sharp and not rubbed, something I look for. The light gold-wash on the bowls has faded a bit, but there are no dents or bends.

These spoons were made by Gorham for Tiffany & Company in 1864. Before Tiffany produced their own flatware, they contracted other fine silver makers to manufacture flatware worthy of the Tiffany name.

Gorham did some of their finest renditions for Tiffany, then, as now, the pre-eminent house in the United States, and recognized around the world for their high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
