This is a unique 4 page (2 consecutive sequential leaves, framed opened in a two sided glass frame) manuscript fragment on vellum with numerous beautiful illuminated red and blue letters, with striking trails of penned linework.Gorgeously illuminated medieval handwritten RED-BLUE illuminated initials throughout, (13 one line blue and red initials , 15 two line capitals, one three line capital) with beautiful and various sized black, brown & red Gothic-Handwriting, complexly arranged and created with the utmost in precision, a great relic of the care and time taken to make this page. 23 lines in two columns, text in latre Carolingian/ Rotunda. Red rubricated. Pics taken with and without flash to show details; page is not yellowed. In two sided frame, glass on both sides for viewing. As shown. 18\" x 12.5\" in
The pages are still bound at the original edge, sequential as originally made and written, made on fine thick vellum parchment in excellent condition with minor traces of aging and marginal soiling, very well preserved. The leaves are adorned with multicolored initials enhanced with freshly natural colors, artistic colored throughout.Over 500 years Old, this is a truly rare and worthy of a museum.
