This note as well as many others that are over 150 years old and have been circulated, often have folds, age stains, and sometimes pinholes. In the case of this noteit does have some of what has been described, but it does not take awayits collectability.
This nice note has a center picture of a map of Alabama beneath a large trees, below is a Blue protector (50 CTS) which is bold and leaves no doubt aboutthe issue value of tis piece of currency. The vignette at the bottom right is Mrs. Juliet Opie Hopkins who was known for her care of the wounded Southern Soldiers.
This note has a very good rectangular shape(when issued, notes were cut by hand), the Plate letter is M, it\'s a 2nd Series and the Serial no. is 31713.
A great piece of History to have in your collection.
