Lladro figurine, #5849 \"Sorrowful Mother\", of Jesus Christ in his mother Mary\'s lap, after his crucifixion. Amazing detail from the look on her face to limp figure in her lap.Sculpted by artist Salvador Furio this design was introduced in 1992 and retired in 1999. Limited Edition, this is #422 of 1500. Signed by Juan Lladro, 11/17/92. He is the eldest of the 3 brothers that founded the Lladro Co.Base is separate and apprx 18\" wide. The piece alone measures apprx 12.5\" tall x 16.25\" wide x 8.5\" front to back.
Excellent condition, have checked several times and see no chips or cracks. There is some waxy putty / quake hold on the base and bottom of the figure.Purchased at an estate sale, do not have the original box. Do have the framed certificate of authenticity from Lladro.
