Chain was on it when I got it so is coming with - I don\'t know if chain is original to the locket or not - of course you can use your own chain if you prefer. If you wanted to wear the locket as a charm you would need to snip open the bale - remove bale - & add a jump ring. Being sold as it is. Jewelry may appear larger or smaller, color / hue / shade lighter or darker in pics - nothing I can do about that. I measure & take pics to best of my ability. Vintage, Antique, Retro, Used Items will have expected wear - perfection does not exist. Handmade items may have imperfections here & there from making process. Pics are part of description. Locket measures 9/16 in. tall by 15/16 in. long ( excluding loop ) by tad over 1/16 in. deep ( excluding flap. ). Has a stem & hole closure. Locket has a goldish hue color heart design on the flap. Chain was on it when I got it so is coming with - I don\'t know if chain is original to the locket or not - of course you can add your own chain if you prefer. Chain is marked 925 on the tongue of the clasp - ( a magnet sticks to whatever is inside the clasp - a wire or spring thingy or some such ). Chain measures 18 13/16 in. including clasp & extender chain. To wear as a charm you would need to snip open the bale - remove bale & add a jump ring. Wear stated in above opening text.
