Vintage 40 - (early)50\'s, Russian, large Fedoskino lacquer box. Hand painted.Exact copy of the famous paintings of Russian artist Tropinin \"Zolotoshveyka\",1826. (State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow).Gorgeous portrait of a girl who embroiders with gold.Very bright, detailed work.
The box was made by \"Fedoskino Artel\" in late 40\'s or early 50\'s of last century.Papier mache. Oil painting. Lacquer. Stamp of Fedoskino Artel 40-50\'s.This period is the most prized by collectors.
The production of such boxes is very time consuming. All operations are performed manually by using conventional materials. Many components are kept secret (lacquer, paint composition).Volume is achieved by multiple varnish, ie each next layer is drawn on dry and polishedlacquer.Everything polished by hand.Sometimes the manufacture takes several months.
Condition is great.The front side and inside there is no problem. Like new. No visible cracks and scratches. On the right side there is a barely visible small dent (see photo). Perhaps it was a scratch and was restored.The whole condition is close to ideal. It\'s very rare thing. Fedoskino at that was not mass production. Top sovietquality!
