Brief Biography ~Wenzel Pfohl who was born in Austria in 1859, came to the U.S. in 1905 and settled in Chicago where hefound workas a professional porcelain artist at the Stouffer Studio, White\'s Art Studio, and E.W. Donath Studiowhere he produced outstanding realism florals ~ however, he was especially known for his well rendered figures and portraits.Pfohl continued painting at the Donath Studiountil his death in 1928.W. Pfohl listed in \"Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Pickard China\"Measuring 10 1/4\" in diameter, the reverse bears the red decorating mark of theEdward W. Donath Studio, \"Hand Painted China-E.W.Donath\" circa 1910, as well as a red Bavarian mark \"C.S.Bavaria\".Pfohl\'s porcelain art is seldom found, which makes hisworks rare and highly collectible.
