Antique Wedding Attire and other Antique Garments c1870sfrom the same family. This lot includes a photo of the couple 40 years on withtheir 8 children and a copy of their marriage certificate.
Henry Hammond West marriedSarah Louisa Ann Binham in the September Quarter of 1878 at Hull
Henry Hammond West moved on from being a Mariner listed on the 1881Census to become a Customs Officer in 1891 a Customs Boatman in 1901 and then aPreventive Officer for H.M. Customs on the 1911 Census.
The children were, John B.,Mildred Kate, Elsie Sophia. Christopher W. Hilda, Gertrude,Caroline and Harry.
There iswear and tear, age spotting etc commensurate with these items being stored forover 100 years.
1. Thewedding dress is grey silk or satin, ruched, gathered & buttoned with bustle. Has marks & stains to it and tears to thecuffs. It has been machine and hand stitched and has an attached lace hankieattached to one side for effect.
2. The creamlined cape feels like cotton with silk embellishments, again with marks andstains.
3. Silkunderskirt with marks and a tear near underarm.
4. Childscotton under garment, laced edged with age spotting.
5. Smallchilds cape, in cotton I think.
6. Pair ofgrey felt spats with leather straps and edging. Good condition for age, tomatch wedding dress.
7. Lace/Nethat.
8. Lacecovered felt hat with flower embellishment.
9. Handembroidered smoking hat.
10. 4 xBabies/childs nightwear and/or Christening gowns.
11. Silk/laceshawl with long tasselled fringe which will require some untangling.
Insurance is included in the postage price.
