This classic retro multi-layered pendant
ceiling light was designed by Swedish architect Carl Thore for Granhaga Metallindustri, Denmark.
The lampshade is made of six concentric brushed aluminium disks with a white interior except for the 2 outer most shades featuring an fiery orange treatment, this lamp comes with an extremely rare teak finial.
The overall effect of this combination is that when the lamp is lit, a
rich orange glow is cast onto all the exteriors creating a warm and colourful
effect like a fire glow.
. It would be perfect in a study, office or as subsidiary lighting
in a sitting area.
A great restrained design, a perfect addition to any retro interior.
Swedish-born architect Carl Thore’s lighting designs were celebrated in the 1960s and 70s and continue to be sought after today as paradigms of vintage Scandinavian design.
This sculptural pendant light is an excellent example of 1960s Scandinavian lighting and Carl Thore's aesthetic.
