This strikingly beautiful and finely hand crafted French antique 19th Century ring has a wonderfully elegant marquise shaped silver crown; mounted with a glittering array of twenty five rose cut natural mined Diamonds: 2 mm - 3 mm.The pretty rose cut Diamonds are each silver mounted in gold \"open back\" settings.The large size crown measures 32 mm length and 12 mm wide, and is presented above a beautifully pierced gold gallery,and between Leaf design shoulders; of a 14ct yellow gold decoratively tooled shank.The interior of the shank is embossed with some now illegible hallmarks; the gold has tested as 14ct; when exposed to professional precious metals testing chemicals.the weight measures a relatively heavy 6.38 Grams..The condition is very good; remarkable considering its age.There are no signs of damage the the all original secure set Diamonds or to the artfully crafted silver and gold.The only signs of age is the gold shank is no longer perfectly round and the Diamonds reflect a glittering grey shade; a reflection of the naturally oxidised silver.I presented this ring to a London sale house jewellery specialist to verify its age and origin.
