This sale is for a HUGE vintage gold textured ashtray. It was acquired at a very clean estate sale. The family dates it to the early 1950’s. I have no way of verifying that information. On the unglazed area is a mark about 1” long that may or may not be writing to identify the maker. If it is, I can’t read it!

The ashtray is in excellent condition. The only flaws I found is a chip on the corner of one edge at the point. This is an old chip 1/8” wide and there is a speck of missing paint that is nearby on the edge that also measures 1/8” long. The gold paint covers a textured base that is best seen in the second photo because the gold and flash wash most of it out on the photo of the top of the ashtray. The gold paint is in excellent condition, with only three pinpoint size dark spots in the bowl of the ashtray one on 1/8” diameter spot on the upper edge. There are two chips in the underside rim that is around the center of the unglazed area.

The ashtray measures 10 ¾” square. It stands 2” high at the corners. There are five depressions in the center piece that stands 1 ¾” tall. This was made for some serious smoking!!
