Approximately 131 Vintage MARDI GRAS DOUBLOON Tokens/\"Coins\"

Found in several old estates in our area. The years were attimes confusing to us, but we’ll do the best we can. Here they are:

1.)1968 – 1 “VIKINGS” wooden nickel; “clown”doubloons – 2 pale blue, 3 silver, 1 gold; back features, ”STARDUSTERS DRUM ANDBUGLE CORPS”;

2.)1970 – “KAY NUNEZ” – 5 blue, 2 silver, 1 red;back features, ”STARBUSTERS DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS”; plus 1 gold doubloon “HONORINGGREATEST BANDS IN DIXIE”;

3.)1971 – 1 pale blue coin with ”STARDUSTERS DRUM AND BUGLECORPS” on 1 side; 4 gold coins with “KREWE OF PEGASUS” on 1 side & \"VIENNA CITY OF SONG\" on the reverse side;

4.)1972 –1 1972 silver coin reading, “ARGUS” onone side & “HONORING THOMAS JEFFERSON” on the reverse;

5.)1973 – 1 silver coin with “NEW ORLEANS MARDIGRAS” on 1 side & “KREWE OF CRESCENT CITY” on the other side;

6.)1974 – 1 gold 1974 coinwith “HONORING GREATEST BANDS IN DIXIE” on one side & “KREWE OF MID-CITYNEW ORLEANS”; 1 pink coin reads on 1 side, ”HONORING GREAT ITALIAN-AMERICANS”,while the other side depicts the Flags of the 2 countries; 2 silver 1974 coinsfeature, “FORGOTTEN MYTHS” on 1 side & “BACCHUS READS THE COMICS” on thereverse; 5 silver coins feature, “HONORING THE URSULINE NUNS” on 1 side & “KREWEOF CRESCENT CITY” on the reverse side; 1 silver coin with “A SALUTE TO GRANDISLE on 1 side & “KREWE of JEFFERSON” on the reverse; 43 silver coins with “LETSMASK FOR MARDI GRAS” on 1 side & “ATLAS” on the other side (3 additional of these coins, not pictured,found on 01-13-2017, bringing the total to 47);

7.)1975 – 1 silver doubloon reading, “OLD CROWBOURBON” on 1 side & “NEW ORLEANS SOUVENIR 1974-1975” on the other side; 10silver coins with “THE LAST LINE” on 1 side & KREWE OF CRESCENT CITY” onthe other side; 3 silver coins with “ENCORE” on 1 side with “OFFICIAL DRACHMAKrewe of Zeus” on the other side; 1 gold coin with “WORLD of MAKE BELIEVE” on 1side & “ATLAS” on the reverse side;

8.)1976 – 1 blue coin with “GREAT MOMENTS INAMERICAN HISTORY” on 1 side, & “ATLAS 1969”, on the other side; 1 gold coinjust like the blue coin; 6 silver coins but with different designs: 3 coinswith “GREAT MOMENTS IN AMERICAN HISTORY” on 1 side & “ATLAS 1969” on the otherside plus 1 “ARGUS SONG BOOK” on 1 side & Argus & a peacock on theother side, plus “AMERICAN BICENTENNIAL REVOLUTION” on 1 side & “KREWE OFCARROLTON” with a Mardi Gras mask & 1924 on the other side;

9.)1978 – 3 silver coins with “FAMOUS CLASSICS OFLITERATURE” on 1 side & “Krewe of Thoth” on the other side, & 1 pink “KITCARSON” coin with “KREWE OF JEFFERSON” on its reverse side;

10.) 1979– 2 silver coins, 1 has “A Thing of Beauty” on 1 side & “ENDYMION TOKEN ofYOUTH” on the reverse & 1 has “PURR JAZZ” with a cat blowing a trumpet on 1side while the back reads, “Lakeview Carnival Club” on the reverse, plus 1 deeppink “KISS” on 1 side & “ENDYMION TOKEN of YOUTH” on the reverse, plus 1purple “A KALEIDOSCOPE OF FANTASY” on 1 side & “KREWE OF AQUILA” on thereverse;

11.) 1980– 7 coins - 1 light green reads, “TOP O’ THE MORNIN’” on 1 side & “SHADYLADIES MARCHING CLUB”, plus 2 turquoise coins with same design, “A THING ofBEAUTY” on 1 side & “ENDYMION TOKEN of YOUTH” on the reverse side; 4 silvercoins including 2 with “CORPS de NAPOLEON” on 1 side & “Songs of the South”on the reverse, plus 1 “ONCE UPON A TIME” with “ENDYMION TOKEN of YOUTH” on thereverse side, plus “BROADWAY on PARADE” with “ENDYMION of YOUTH” on the reverseside;

12.) 1981– 21 coins – 15 silver coins – 3 with “Alphabet on Parade” on 1 side & “KREWEof MARDI GRAS” on the other side; 4coins “CREATURES OF THE IMAGINATION” on 1 side & “ARGUS” with a peacock onthe other side; the other 9 silver coins have different scenes “DIANA” on 1side with “DANCE DANCE DANCE” on the other side, “Schlitz” on 1 side & “SchlitzSALUTES MARDI GRAS” on the reverse, “STORIES of ENCHANTMENT” with “ATLAS 1969”on reverse, “BELOVED AMERICAN Elvis” on 1 side & “KREWE of JEFFERSON” onreverse, “HARRY LEE – SHERRIF” on 1 side & “POSSE” with a sheriff’s badgeon the reverse, “Those Were the Days” on 1 side & “KREWE OF ZEUS DRACHMA”on the other side, “CENTURIONS” on 1 side & “GAMES CHILDREN PLAY” on thereverse, “HEARTBEAT of AMERICA” on 1 side & “ENDYMION TOKEN of YOUTH” onthe reverse, plus on 1 side “OH WHAT A FEELING” on 1 side & “THE KINSMEN”on the other side; 1 gold coin – “REALM OF FACT AND FICTION” on 1 side & “OKEANOS1949” on the reverse, (another coin in a bright green just like it), plus 1turquoise “HEARTBEAT of AMERICA” on 1 side & “ENDYMION TOKEN of YOUTH” onthe reverse side, plus 1 blue “CREATURES OF THE IMAGINATION” on 1 side & “ARGUS”with a peacock on the reverse side, plus a light green “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” on 1side & KREWE OF CAESAR” on the reverse side

13.) 1982– 18 coins in 8 designs: 4 silver with “FARHAD GROTTO” on 1 side & “DONALDR. LABARRE GRAND MONARCH 1982” on the other, 3 silver coins with “THE 25thANNIVERSARY That’s Entertainment” on 1 side & “KREWE OF ZEUS DRACHMA” onthe other side, (1 gold coin just like it), 3 silver coins with “LITERARYTREASURES ENDYMION’S” on 1 side & “Endymion TOKEN of YOUTH” on the otherside, (3 turquoise coins just like the previous 3 silver coins), plus 2 blueWalt Disney coins with “KREWE OF JEFFERSON” on the reverse, plus 1 silver coinwith “DIANA” on 1 side & “Ahoy! The Bountiful Sea” on the other side, plus2 silver coins with “LIKE GRANDMAW USED TO SAY” on 1 side & “KREWE OF MARDIGRAS” on the reverse side;

These tokens are extra: 1 with “CARNIVAL OF DAZE” 1967 on 1 side & “STARDUSTERSDRUM AND BUGLE CORPS” on the other side; 1 no date found silver coin marked “THECABILDO 1795” on the front & New Orleans on the back; & 4 coins that donot appear to be related to Mardi Gras: 2 “YMCA-Indian Guides – Indian Princesses– Trailblazers” coins, plus 2 Irish-related coins from “JEFFERSON PARISHLOUISIANA” on 1 side with different St. Patrick’s parade information on theirreverse sides.
