This is a Montana settler-family member\'s Solid 14k Knights Templar Masonic Watch Fob. It weighs a bit over 14 grams. The knight\'s shield measures 1.25 inch by 1 inch and. 1 9/16th inch from the bottom of the shield to the top of the knight\'s helmet, not including the fixed circle bale. Its degtee awards date from the early 1900s-as the dates on the degree award engravings are seen on the watch fob. Please note that the chain you see in the photos is NOT included. I will not go into history of the masonic order or lodges, except to state this fob\'s degrees were all awarded in Montana lodges.The photos attempt to show you its clean details such as the plume in the Knight\'s helmet and its fine distinct lines with no reconditioning. Also shown is that the helmet bends to the maximum allowable degree. The visor moves to the maximum allowable degree as limited by the plume. There are no chips or dents or repairs. Any slight mark appearing in the photos is dust on the camera lens. For us,the nicest part is its provenance: The Robinson family were early settlers of the state of Montana. They started with a general store...right out of the movies...where gold miners brought their gold for assaying, weighing and selling, as well as provisioning. The family developed old and long-time western businesses in their town. Later on in the 1930s, women there wore pants and boots and smoked in public anywhere in the town. We had a panoramic hard-backed photo of them outside in their western styles; pretty, educated, smoking and leaning.
