This lovely lion figural sterling handled was made in Germany c. 1960. It features on one side a beautifully modeled lion standing and holding an escutcheon to his chest. On the other side of the handle the very naturalistic back of the lion can be seen complete with magnificent mane, backbone, haunches and a tail that curls around to the front of the handle.The handle is marked STERLING and the stainless steel blade is marked GERMANY. The letter opener is9.25\" long.
