Offering an outstanding large 17\" Halloween Witch Candy Container c1910 stamped Germany. This museum-quality witch measures an impressive 17\" tall. 100% Guaranteed an Authentic Antique.She is the quintessential Victorian storybook witch and has the BEST FACE I\'ve ever seen on these antique witch candy containers. She is very special!
This witch has a papier-mache (or composition) head and has great facial construction with a very long chin and nose. She has beautiful hand-painted/airbrushed facial details with a big toothy grin, red lips, cheeks, curvy eyebrows, and blue eyes. Her hat is made of a hard cardboard, black cape of felt, and has a cream shirt, lace apron and red & white polka dot dress. She holds her broom in her right secured with a rusty nail. Her \"old hag\" grey hair is fabulous. It appears to be real hair, but I\'m unsure. It\'s very realistic. Her hands, legs and feet are made of wood. Her candy container is shown in one of the photos from all angles. The inside cylinder was once replaced. It fits snug with the bottom cylinder and it will open if you carefully turn side to side slowly. Her feet rest on a round green base and the underside is stamped \"GERMANY.\"As a bonus I am including her companion, a RARE stuffed arched-back Halloween Cat. I believe he might be a German Steiff cat. He no longer retains his ear button, however, I found an identical cat on pinterest identified as a Steiff with the ear button (scroll down to see photo). This cat is in excellent condition with very minimal mohair thinning. He has green glass eyes and a red stitched nose, mouth, and claws, and white whiskers. He is hard stuffed with wood shavings (excelsior) and has a big fluffy tail, and wears an old black ribbon around his neck, which might be original to him. He dates approx. to the 1920s.The witch\'s condition is very good to excellent for her age. She has light soiling/dirt on clothing, face and hands have scuffs and dirt. Face has some crazing noticeable mostly in the eyes that you can only see with magnification (see photos). Her nose is scratched at tip, cheeks have minor scuffs/scratches, bottom of chin has a small slash mark. Her hat has dents and cracks (see photo of hat edge). She is all-original except for her replaced cylinder that is concealed in her body. Overall this witch is clean and has no odors. Of course, if you put your nose right on her you\'ll smell age, but she is not stinky!
