~ sale ~

This isone of an eight (8) piece Tiffany Studios Grapevine desk set I recently obtained from a private collection. With unique religious provenance proving ownership by the famed hymn writer and minister Shepherd Knapp of New York! I will be saleing all pieces separately with in other sales.

This is an exquisite signed Tiffany StudiosArt Nouveau roller blotter. The pierced metalwork was designed to be reminiscent of Tiffany\'s stained glass windows. Thisroller blotterhascracks and some loose glass at one top side of the piece. Also some dust biuldup at the top consistent with age. For this reason it is sold as is and remains a fabulous example of art nouveau Tiffany Studios craftsmanship at it\'s finest! Signed \"TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 995\" on the side. Please examine the photographs closely and feel free to ask questions.

The grapevine was one of the earliest desk set patternsby Tiffany and comprised over 25 different pieces. The glass was either the more common green, blue or the more rare amber/caramel swirl as found in this example.Tiffany Studios produced wonderful and highly collectible art nouveau items prized by collectors from 1878-1933.
