RARE vintage 1965 MATTEL BUBBLECUT BARBIE DOLL #1070 Bendable Legs Bubble Cut:

this bubblecut bendable leg Barbie from 1965 was found in an estate sale in her case with the dress pictured. she is in fairly good condition except her arm. see pics. there is no green that I can see. she is made up with blue eyeshadow and lipstick. her torso is lighter than her limbs and head. see markings in the pictures. she has some type of slots in her feet. her arms have a number on them so they may have been repaired. can\'t read the number but there is an NN under them. these numbers are flesh colored and in the inside upper arm.major flaws are : only one leg still bends. and her arm is completely off with a jagged hole at the socket(see picture. her arm is here and will be included and well as the party dress from the garden party #931) the dress is in good shape and has the original tag but is missing a snap in the back. I think the bubble cut bendables are more rare as is the blue makeup but I know the experts out there will know exactly. Body Construction
The bubblecut Barbie dolls are all-vinyl, tan toned with a hollow torso, 11.5\" tall, with rooted hair, molded eyelids, pierced ears and side glancing eyes. They are jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. In 1961, the dolls were available with blonde, black or red hair, with red lips and nails. Subsequently, they had a greater range of hair colors, including platinum and brownette. Lip and nail colors became more varied as well. All straight leg bubblecut dolls had the same Mattel stock number, 850 (same number as the dolls with ponytails).

In 1965, a few rare bubblecut dolls were sold on the new bendable leg bodies, with stock number 1070.

Markings
For the first couple of years, bubblecut Barbie dolls are marked \"Barbie TM // Pats. Pend. // (copyright symbol)MCMLVIII // by // Mattel // Inc.\" Beginning in 1963, they were marked \"Midge TM // (copyright symbol) 1962 // Barbie (R) // (C)1958 // by // Mattel, Inc.\" The rare bendable leg bubblecut dolls are marked \"(copyright symbol) 1958 // Mattel, Inc. // U.S. Patented // U.S. Pat.
