This fine, solid silver filigree platter has sides of six prominent lobes finished with fine scalloped edging. The platter is finely decorated around a central petal motif
with concentric bands of flowers, petals and leafy scrolling beautifully done.Please see all the images.The sides are raised. The tray sits flatly without feet.The use of flower motifs done in filigree including tightly-wound spirals, zig-zag borders and applied shapes in solid silver is typical of Cuttack filigree work.See Dehejia (2008, p. 81) for a Cuttack calling card case that employs similar filigree work as shown in this piece, and Godrej & Punthakey Mistree (2002, p.
