\"A splendid tiger prowls among the reeds of the grasslands. As is his nature, he is ever vigilant in the search for prey. Blessed with natural shadows and innate stealth, he is both hidden and silent. His presence will be known only when he chooses to make it known.\" - Mark Hopkins.This sculpture was first released in January 1997. From the Animals of the World Collection of the Nature Series, it is number 71 of the only 250-piece edition. It measures 14\"x20\". Mark Hopkins had long wanted to do a tiger, but could not quite put his finger on the perfect execution. After several years of creative thinking, he captured this marvelous beast coming, like a shadow, through the tall grasses of his native habitat. Notice the motion, Mark\'s hallmark, obtained simply by raising the paw off the ground. This is a truly remarkable work of art! The originalissue price of “Shadow in the Grass” was $1625. There are pieces still available in the market, but they are being sold at the sculpture\'s current price of $2995.
