This is a beautiful decorative collector plate called The Marble Boat. It was made in China by Imperial JingdezhenPorcelain in 1988. It is from the“Scenes from the Summer Palace” series.This very attractive plate measures 8 ½ inches in diameter and weighsjust over 1 pound. It is nicely colored, has exquisite detail, and is in greatcondition. According to my research, thetown of Jingdezhen is known as the porcelain capital of China. The pure white clay found there and the easeof transportation via the Chang River has made this industry flourish foralmost 1700 years.
