Unusual hard to find Victorian rocking chair. This \"Turkish\" style Chair is American and dates back to the late 1800\'s. The only wood on the chair is the legs and base. The arms, seat, and back of the chair are constructed of wire and springs (making the Chair slightly flexible). This, along with the horsehair stuffing, makes this chair very comfortable. This chair is a rocker and is beautifully hand tied and tufted. We bought it over 30 years ago and believe the chair has the original upholstery. It is a mauve velvet color and unfortunately the arms are faded or soiled. We are reluctant to try to clean them. Otherwise, the upholstery is in excellent condition, no tears or snags. The rocker under carriage and frame are also in excellent condition as pictured.
Chair measures 38 inches high, 32 inches wide and the seat is 22 inches deep.
