Royal Doultonwas an English ceramic manufacturing company producingtablewareandcollectables, dating from 1815. Operating originally in London, its reputation grew inThe Potteries, where it was a latecomer compared toRoyal Crown Derby,Royal Worcester,Wedgwood,SpodeandMintons. Its products include dinnerware, giftware, cookware,porcelain, glassware, collectables, jewellery,linens, curtains and lighting.

Three of its brands were Royal Doulton, Royal Albert andMintons. These brands are now owned by WWRD Holdings Ltd (Waterford Crystal,Wedgwood, Royal Doulton), based inBarlastonnearStoke-on-Trent. On 2 July 2015 the acquisition of WWRD by theFinnishcompanyFiskars Corporationwas completed.

During the 1930\'s, freelance artist Frederick Daws contributed to the championship dog series, which became very collectible and loved due to his ability to capture the realistic qualities of the breeds he featured. This Cocker Spaniel is an excellent example of his beautiful work.
