Mark Hopkins Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture, \"What the Future Holds\", #97/950. Item #13032.**NOTE: This is the largest version available of this sculpture, not to be confused with the two smaller versions that were introduced after this one was released.**The sculptor himself can describe the essence of this captivating, profound, and heartwarming piece far better than I am able to...
\"Two hands - one tiny and soft, the other large and worn - are clasped in a gesture of tender affection. With utter faith, the young look to their elders to help them through the perils of growing up. Whether parent, grandparent, teacher, or friend, it is the task of those who have gone before to pave the way into the future.\" - Mark Hopkins. This sculpture was first released in April 2003. From the \"A People United\" collection of the \"American Heritage\" series, it is number 97 of the 950-piece edition. It measures 7”x 9”. The originalissue price of “What the Future Holds” was $695. The average current retail cost is $1195. This piece makes the perfect gift for the older person in your life you look up to, or the younger person in your life that looks up to you. It is simply precious. I was so moved by this piece that I kept one for myself. It always reminded me of my daughter when she was little and would be walking hand-in-hand with my Dad. What the pictures might not adequately show is the extraordinary skill with which Mark has executed the hands of this piece. For many artists, hands are such a difficult feature that they avoid or gloss over them. Mark Hopkins, however, is aware of the immense power of the hand to convey emotion or tension. Rather than avoid sculpting them, he uses his vast talent to maximize them and make them a focal point of his art.

In addition to the Certificate of Authenticityand Registration Card, I will also include an insert that gives a briefbiographical introduction to the sculptor, and lists some well known privateand corporate collectors of Mark Hopkins\' work. This piece is from a large private estate collection - it belonged to my parents. I have kept some oftheir sculptures of course, but I\'m afraid I simply don\'t have nearly a bigenough house to store all of them or properly display them. ThoughI know they were never able to actually display it themselves, I havepersonally inspected the piece thoroughly to ensure that it is in brand new andpristine condition. Due to the status of the collection, no returns will beable to be accepted, so please feel free to ask questions, request additionalpictures and/or information, because I want you to feel supremely confident inyour purchase. Since I have such an emotional attachment to this stunningcollection, I look forward to seeing this piece find another happy home! International shipping for this item is now available to many countries through \'s Global Shipping Program! Please see program details for more information.
