REALLY NICE

We are downsizing personally-owned items and offering avariety of antique / vintage toys – games - books that were purchased brand newin the 1940s - 1950s - 1960s – 1970s. They have only had one owner. Offered for sale in this sale is thisreally neat vintage The Flintstones PlaySet in its original box with its original Assembly Instructions sheet. The instruction sheet has a copyright date of1961. There are 90 pieces (not countingthe box, assembly sheet and 2 gray dinosaurs) and this vintage set is near complete and infantastic condition for its age.

This toy was my brothers when he was a child in the 1960sbut it looks barely used. The people,buildings, dinosaurs, etc. are in very nice condition with no nicks, chips,cracks, stains, repairs, or chew marks. Everything is very clean – there couldbe minor dust from decades of storage. Thecolorful Assembly Instructions sheet has some edge tears which doesn’t affectits readability. The 50+ year old box is complete but shows wear. In the upper right corner of the box frontthere are some written numbers from the store – a price? The box is large and measures approx. 25”long x 16” wide x 5” high.

This 90 piece play set seems pretty complete and displaysextremely well (see photos) - it is hard to believe it is 54 years old. NOTE: AfterI took the pictures I found 2 more dinosaurs while sorting through the 1950sFarm Set we will also be selling – please see photo 4 to view all the dinosaurs. They are gray so I do not know if they areoriginal to this play set but I am going to include them since they aredinosaurs – one is a Wooly Mammoth (the tip of one tusk is gone) and the otheris a Saber Tooth Tiger (no damage noted).

This vintage toy doesn’t appear to have been played withmuch. The pieces are very clean andother than the damage to one tree trunk, the shopping cart handle, the WoolyMammoth tusk, and the small / tiny holes scattered about on the vinyl matmentioned below and visible in the pictures, this play set is in very good toexcellent vintage / antique condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, stains,repairs, or chew marks. There are some manufacturing molding marks here andthere. All colors are bright with no fading.It is old and being sold as is.

The seven buildings are assembled (some tighter than others)and I am going to leave them assembled. The instructions state for permanentassembly of buildings and accessories, you can apply a few drops of householdcement where necessary. I see NO SIGNSOF GLUE ON ANY OF THE BUILDINGS OR ACCESSORIES.The 2 cars are assembled. I donot know if there are any original pieces missing other than the 3 antenna (Flintstonehouse, Rubble house, and Building), the 2 car roof supports for Barney’s car,and the 1 palm tree foliage. The box andinstruction sheet do not state how many pieces there were originally but thisset seems very complete.
