This is an exquisite and rare large teapot fromthe highly regarded TC 100 stacking tableware collection designed byHans (Nick) Roericht and produced by Thomas Germany.
This piece is designated as Teapot #3 according to the TC 100 documentation. It is thelargest teapot in the collection.It is 1.2L or 5 Cups in size.

A unique feature of theteapot is the corresponding dots on both the handle and lid for easy alignment. Another great feature is the lid can double as a coaster for the pot to rest on due to it\'s stacking design.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. One very small nick to the inside inner rim and completely unnoticeable when lid is on. Marked Thomas Germany on bottom. It will be packed extremely well.
The TC 100, designed in 1959, is often considered the standard of Bauhaus and modern tableware design. Nick Roericht designed the set for histhesis at theUlmSchool of Designand it was taken into the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) collection in New York City soon after its launch.It has won a number of awards.
All pieces of the tableware with the same diameter are stackable. The individual stacks are stable thanks to a double cylinder construction which no designer had used before. A sloping side with thickened rim made it possible for the saucers and tureens to be stackable – these characteristics resulted in a unique product appearance.It is important in design because it integrates production processes, transportation, and storage issues at the design stage.
The TC 100 production was ceased in 2006 by Thomas/Rosenthal.
