The Incuse Indian Silver Round is designed after the US Mint’s Indian Head Half Eagle $5 Gold Coin. Unlike most other contemporary bullion coins, the devices on this round are struck into the round, and the field is raised above the devices. The original Indian Head gold coin was designed by the US sculptor, Bela-Lyon Pratt.
The obverse of this round features the profile of a Native American in full headdress. The profile is surrounded by 13 stars, representing the 13 original US colonies, and the inscriptions “LIBERTY” and “1929”.
The reverse of the Incuse Indian features a Bald Eagle holding a fasces and olive branch, symbolizing military might and a desire for peace. The reverse also features the inscriptions “GOLDEN STATE MINT”, “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, “IN GOD WE TRUST”, and “1 TROY OZ. 999 FINE SILVER”.
