Naked Necks, most likely originated in Hungary or Transylvania. Their identifying feature is the absence of feathers on there neck. Many people believe they are a cross between a turkey and a chicken, because of the lack of fathers on the neck. This is not true. They are there own chicken breed. The Naked Neck gene is dominant, so if a Naked Neck is bred with different breed they will throw Naked Necks. Two chickens with Naked Neck blood in them that have fully feathered necks will produce Naked Neck chicks. Naked Necks come in many different colors, but Standard of Perfection only recognizes Buff, Red, and White. They also have 20% less body feathers then other chickens. Although they have 20% less feathers they surprisingly handle the cold very well and are great in hot weather. They are a very hardy breed and are great producers of large brown eggs. They can lay between 180 to 250 eggs a season. They are a dual-purpose breed so the are great for the table as well. They will go broody and have a wonderful disposition. They are active birds making them great forgers if you want to free range them, but they also do well in confinement. Naked Necks standard weight at maturity are males 8 1/2 lbs., and hens 7 1/2 lbs. Naked Necks are also resistant to most chicken disease\'s . They are a great all around breed. They are very friendly, docile birds and make great pets. Also these are rare colors that I am working on so not all the chicks will hatch with naked necks.

Hatching Egg Buying Policy
Ok, as we all know shipping hatching eggs is risky. There are many things that can happen that will decrease the ability for the embryos to develop and the chicks ability to hatch. Example exposer to high temperatures or cold temperatures, x-raying, and rough handling are some things that can kill embryos. Rough handling can jar air cells lose, this can hinder the chicks ability to hatch. These are things that can happen while in transit. I have no control over these things or anything else after shipping the eggs. Like incubating techniques, how you incubate the eggs whether its under a broody hen or in a incubator this is out of my control. So if something goes wrong it is not my fault. I ship fresh eggs from pens with healthy male and female birds in them. They are fed a quality feed, and given fresh water daily. I hatch eggs from my birds and they hatch with no difficulty, but do to the shipping risk I can not guarantee you will have the same experience. There is no guarantee that the eggs will be fertile or they will hatch. I do not refund or replace hatching eggs under any circumstances, please do not ask. If you want the box marked fragile hatching eggs please do not x-ray with arrows pointing up so the USPS knows to handle with caution, as the package is fragile and time sensitive. They are well feed and kept in a clean healthy Environment, with everything they need to be happy so when these eggs leave my hands I am not responsible for what happens to them. There are just too many risk with shipping eggs like: temperature fluctuations, ruff handling by the USPS, and many, many more. I pack very well for shipping. I wrap each egg in a soft paper. This is so the eggs do not rock back and forth. Then I put them in an egg tray or carton with air cells up. If you want the box marked fragile hatching eggs please do not x-ray with arrows pointing up so the USPS knows to handle with caution, as the package is fragile and time sensitive.
