A Leaf from a medieval manuscript Bible with contemporary notes: Paris, France, mid 13th century, In Latin On Vellum (197x134mm.). There are fifty-five lines of double column text in microscopic-miniscule Gothic script. Book headings, chapter numbers, two large versal initials “S\" and \"E\" alternating in red and blue pen work with fantastic large scrolling Pen Work. This leaf is from The New Testament, St Paul\'s Second Letter to The Corinthians, verses 10 - 13. There is a lovely four-line initial \"G\" in gold with a pink and blue background. A second magnificent fifteen-line initial \"P\", in gold reveals a miniature of St Paul with his symbol the sword, wearing a red mantle. A truly charming minature.versofifty-five lines of double column text in microscopic-miniscule Gothic script, with one large versal initial “I” in red pen work with lovely blue scrolling pen work and the letter \"U\" in blue with red scrolling penwork. Bible leaves have become rare. Condition of this leaf is Fine [F].
