Here I offer the most famous porcelain figure ever designed by Karl Tutter "Sonnenkind" = Sun Child. Graceful Ballerina - handmade and handpainted fired porcelainin excellent condition. This tasteful nude figure was produced from the highly regarded german manufactury Hutschenreuther (today a a part of Rosenthal), Selb, Bavaria, Germany. It is a very graceful nude girl standing on a golden ball.First formed in 1938 (Art Deco time) from the famous sculptor Karl Tutter (K.TUTTER is impressed under the pedestal).
This Sunchild impresses through the stunning details. This piece is the RARE large version (normally you will find the about 9 inches tall version only), about 13.20 inches tall with an armspan reaching 6.10 inches wide. This woman appears joyful and full of praise for the sun with her upraised head and arms, one leg kicked out behind her as she balances on a golden ball. She is finished in a matte glaze, the skin in flesh colors with handpainted face and brown hair.
The figurine was produced about 60 years ago (marked under the pedestal with Hutschenreuther / Germany / Kunstabteilung - hallmark used about 1955) and is in original condition, without any chips, cracks or repairs.
