THE JINX wasa Magic Periodical edited and published by Ted Annemann, also its majorcontributor, in Waverly, New York.Jinx started in October 1934 and ran for 151 issues plus 9 Extra Summer/Winter Jinx Issues. Its last issue wasDecember 15, 1941 just before Ted committed suicide. Originally put out on amonthly basis, it became a weekly publication in October of 1939.

Annemann was an enigmatic genius who not only performed magic butwas also the creator of magical effects. He specialized in Mental Magicwhich was the forerunner of modern-day Mentalism. Many of his conceptsare still in use today and his Bullet Catching Act was a classic of daring andextremely dangerous magic.

However, Annemann had his dark side and his demons drove him tocommit suicide at the youthful age of 35. We can only speculate as towhat wonders he might have created had he lived out a full life.
