DescriptionThis is THE ULTIMATE COLLECTOR\'S SET of The Rifleman on film. It consists of the PILOT and the developmental episodes. So there are (4) episodes (1 through 4)included in this sale. Additionally, the buyer of these has an option to get the 5th episodeandone more significant episode, details to follow.
If you are afan of The Rifleman, you know that the Pilot episode did not fully establish the characters in the series. They did not have a ranchuntil the second episode and Micah theMarshall was not even in the show until the 4th episode. The following will detail what is included:
Episode #1 (The Pilot Episode) \"The Sharpshooter\". This episode was written by Sam Peckinpah, known for violence in his westerns. The episode features Dennis Hopper, Leif Erickson, Sidney Blackmer, R.G. Armstrong. This episode establishes the McCains in town, Lucas\' reputation with a rifle, and is when hegets the money to buy a ranch.
Episode #2 \"Home Ranch\". This episode was also written by Sam Peckinpah. Featured are Harold J. Stone, Lee Farr, Steve Rowland. In this episode, they actually acquire their ranch, but soon learn that life will not be so easy here. A wealthy rancher wants the place for himself. See the internet movie database for lots of details on this episode.
Episode #3 \"End of a Young Gun\" featuring Michael Landon, Charles Cooper, Carolyn Craig. While this episode does not add any long term characters,a pre-Bonanza Michael Landon is significant as one who saves Mark\'s life and hurts himself in the process. He is invited to the ranch to recuperate from a broken leg.
Episode #4 \"The Marshall\", written by Sam Peckinpah. Features Paul Fix, James Drury, R.G. Armstrong, Warren Oates, Bill Quinn. This episode introduces Paul Fix as Marshall Micah Torrance. Lucas helps him out of chronic drunkenness and helps him to find a new purpose in life as town marshal. Also introduced in this episode is long term character, Frank Sweeney the bartender.
The 4 episodes above are included in this sale, all in overall good condition with theme segments, complete stories, and end credits.
Optionally, Episode #5 is also available for $25. \"The Brother-in-Law\" adds another family member. But he is in trouble with the law.
Optionally the 166th episode is also available, about Mark\'s grandfather, titled: \"Old Man Running\". Also at $25.

These are all on individual 1200\' reels.All are Guaranteedno vinegar syndrome. Generally, they have only minor wear andfew splices.Each one is 1/2 hour B&W.
