This is an incunabula leaf fromThis is a leaf lot of 30 miscellaneousprinted leaves from the 16th to the 19th Century. The leaves covera myriad of languages, subject matter and conditions. Perfectfor history teachers or the merely curious. This is also a perfectstarter kit for anyone thinking about collecting antique printeddocuments. These leaves while catalogued have not been researchedand our loss could be your gain. The featured Leaf is from an early printing from a Biblia Latina . Printed at Lyons by Joannis Crispini in 1539. Crispini, originally of the French/ Netherlands province of Artois printed for a time in Lyons before fleeing religious persecution and opening a press in Geneva in 1548. He died of the plague in 1572. The leaf measures 340 x 240 mm. in totality and contains 70-lines of gothic type printed double column in Latin. The VersoThe featured leaf is from The Book of Daniel Chapters 13-14 and also contains the introduction to Hosea, as well as chapters 1 and 2 from Hosea. There is wonderful woodcut of Daniel in the lion\'s den.
