This piece was acquired from theLammers Collection assembled during the 1960\'s and 70\'s by husbandand wife Frank & Cheng Lammers. Cheng Lammers was a member of theSoutheast Asian Ceramic Society (SEACS) and a founder member of theCeramic Society of Indonesia and published books including \'A Glimpseof the Adam Malik Collection\' and \'Annamese Ceramics in the MuseamPusat Jakarta\' in 1974. A large part of the collection was variouslyloaned to the Muzium Seni Asia at the University of Malaya in KualaLumpur and displayed at South East Asian Ceramics Society Exhibitionsin Singapore, 1971 (Ceramic Art of Southeast Asia) and 1978 (ChineseBlue & White Ceramics). The 1971 exhibition and its pioneeringcatalogue inspired a generation of scholars and stimulated theinterests of goverments in the Southeast Asia area in their nationalheritage.
