Excellent condition 1709 deed for a land on Jones Alley (now Julia St) purchased by Hugh Lowdon from Harbort Corrie. Signed by Nathan Stanbury, who was Mayor of Philadelphia from 1706-1707. In 1706, Alderman Thomas Story was first elected to the non-paying office of mayor of Philadelphia; when he refused the honor, he was fined twenty pounds. In a second vote, Stanbury was elected to the position, which he accepted. Other signers are William Robinson, Daniel Jones, Charles Moore, Richard Heath, Harbort Corrie, and others. Size is 29\" x 18.5\".
